Naruto in Romeo + Juliet Act I

author's note: this is in my series all of life is a stage, meaning i'm using the Naruto characters to act out Romeo & Juliet. i had to change it up a little bit to let it fit the characters better, and i chabged up who says what alittle bit. and it is a yaoi, i was going to make it hinata and naruto but it didnt work out so it's a Gaanaru, and for those haters of yaoi, i'll have you know that in the original Romeo and Juliet back when shakespeare wrote it, Juliet and all other girls where played by guys, so you'll see only as much guy on guy action here as you would if watching it back on stage in shakespears time. also, i'm doing it by act's and not scenes, so this is all of act I, next is Act 2 and so on.... thank you.

Prolouge
Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Konoha, where we lay our scene,

Kankuro and Shikamaru were walking down the streets of Konoha. In the market place, ninja and people alike were hustling around to buy their morning supplies. The two boys talked low about their hatred for the Uzamaki family.
"I'm glad my last name is Sabaku, and not Uzamaki." Kankuro teased. Shikamaru, being a servant to the Kazekage, didn't have the same bragging right.
"Oh how do I hate the Uzamaki ninja, and their servants and friends too, if I see one…"
"I'd fight them."
"Too much effort. Let's go find a roof and look at the clouds?" the lazy ninja suggested.
"No, Look! Here are some now. Kiba, a loyal friend and Shino, a servant. This should be fun." Kankuro walked toward the Uzamaki gang, shikaamru close on his heels.
"What a drag." He pouted.
The brown haired sand ninja stuck up his middle finger in Kiba's direction, the little dog Akamaru barked in the direction, causing the ninja to turn as see the finger. The dog growled but made no move without signal from his owner. Shino had on a perfect poker face, his long white high collared coat and dark sunglasses helping with the image. Kiba's anger, on the other hand, radiated off his body and showed clearly on his face, being one with a short temper.
"You're gonna flick me off really?" the leaf ninja accused.
"I'd never. I was wiping my nose." Kankuro said calmly, making him seem like the good guy in the situation. "And I have every right to flick you off if I wanted to." He did it again.
"That's it, get him Akamaru!" Kiba shouted, only hoping to scare the man off, the little white dog jumped at Kankuro, but before he could make a move, kankuro pulled out a puppet to block the attack. The puppet crow hit akamaru to the ground. Kiba yelled an lunged to attack but Shikamaru caught him still with a shadow. Trying to move, Shikamaru made Kiba start punching himself. Before Kankuro could count the defeat, Shino had the whole lot covered in bees.
"Stop it, all of you. There should be peace here." Shino said sounding bored.
"BUT SHINO!" Kiba whined.
"Stop fighting!" Shino said again, nut to late still, for at the moment the third Hokage, Sarutobi sensei walked on the street towards them.
"Both of you shop. There shall be no more fighting, not in my village. Konohagakure is a village of peace, I will not have you Uzamaki's and  Sabaku's fighting like rouge ninja. Shino, Kiba, I'll see you two later in my office about this. Come Kankuro, Shikamaru, let's get you guys cleaned up." The Hokge left with not a glance back.
With a sigh, the two turned to see Tsunade and her husband Jariya  coming to see what happened. "Who started it?" lady Tsunade asked.
"It was that Kankuro, the spoiled brat has no manners." Kiba said.
"Is this true?" she asked Shino.
"Hai." He answered.
"Have either of you seen Naruto? I'm worried about him. He never speaks to anyone anymore. The poor kid, he's like my own son, seeing as his passed away father Minato was like my son, it makes naruto more of a grandson, but still. I worry for him." The pervy sage asked.
"Ah, I saw him this morning, training in the woods, he looked like he was buisy, and I understand that, I like to be alone when I'm in the training mood sometimes." Kiba answered.
"He seemed like he was avoiding us to me." Shino inquired. Kiba nudged him hard with his elbow.
"Well it's good to know he's out. He rarely leaves his apartment except for missions lately." Jariya continued. "Poor boy eats cereal and ramen for a living, I say he needs to get out."
"He's fine, a tough ninja. But I do wish I knew if something was bothering him." Tsunade said.
"Hey look here he comes." Kiba said, peeking behind the blond woman's figure.
"Why don't we ask him?" Shino suggested moving forward to the blond haired blue eyed orange jump suited boy.
"Wha-? Shino! No!" but it was too late because the bug boy was already headed there. The older ninja didn't hear the fact that Naruto was here and stayed where they were. Shino met him a bit far down the road.
"Good morning Naruto." Kiba smiled.
"Is it still morning?" he looked up at the sun realizing it had not yet reached noon "I hope ichiraku's is open, I'm starving for lunch. Is that Jariya up there?"
"Yes it is. And its no were near the lunch hour, are you sick or something?" Kiba joked.
"No time goes slowly when your sad." The blue eyes looked down as if remembering.
"Why are you sad?" Shino asked.
"I'm in love with someone who couldn't possibly love me." Naruto answered to shino.
"Sakura?" Shino asked
"No, she's more of a sister to me, but a girl Jariya would more approve of."
"Meaning?" Kiba asked confused.
"Love is a tricky thing. It's a bit of everything, but you can't control it, it's making me do things, controlling me. Love is more trouble than it's worth, every turn you make can be a wrong one, and you lose the whole path you've made from the start. I'll see you guys later ok?"
"You'll be fine alone? At least tell me who she is?" Kiba asked, being the concerned friend he was.
"You mean give you a name?" Naruto changed the question seeing as there was no 'she' involved.
"Yes." The dog boy urged, the red tattoo's on his face bringing out his serious eyes.
"I love… someone who could never love me because I am a guy." Naruto sighed.
"Ok…" Kiba thought thinking who he knows that went lesbian. Thinking of none, he decided to let him be, and let lover boy pout like a man.

"Temari, good morning." The Kazekage settled down in his home in the leaf village. He was switching between the leaf and the sand so much, he decided to buy a house here for the kage meetings and business trips. It was during this particular stay that he decided to bring not only his oldest children, Kankuro and Temari, but his youngest child as well, seeing as Gaara got treated bad from the villagers when the Kazekage is away." Only the leaf ninja treated the sand ninja bad when they came here, sort of a jealousy thing, them being the kazekage's kids. Shikamaru being the exception seeing as he was Temari's boyfriend.
"I'm doing fine sir. Sasuke was just wondering of the party tonight? Is everyone invited? Or just you and the Hokage's?" she asked.
"Yes, go tell all who's invited." The Kazekage instructed to his daughter. She did as was told, walking toward where her brother was staying to get his help, when she saw a familiar blond boy walking her way.
"Oi, Naruto? are you going to my Father's party tonight?" Temari asked as Naruto and Kiba explored the streets in silence.
"I believe Tsunade is making me go." He answered plainly. She nodded and continued on her way, getting to Gaara's hotel she knocked on the door.
"I don't plan on giving you a choice, because you need to make friends. Here is a better place to start, no one hates you here." Temari told her little brother as soon as he cracked open the door. "you're going to this party."
"Fine." He was in no mood to argue, even though he pointed out plenty of times that he did try to kill sasuke and injured lee.
"Come on. Make yourself look nice. I'll help you."

"So what are we doing here? I don't have to go you know." Naruto told Kiba later on that night.
"Were just gonna dance with the ladies. Come one Naruto it'll fun."
"But I really don't want to."
"Stop being a party pooper."
"Kiba, I don't…"
"Naru-turd." He teased.
"That's mature." But naruto smiled and followed his friends into the Kazekage's house. "I'm not going to dance though."
"But how will you have fun if you don't play the game? Life is a game you said so yourself once." Kiba argued.
"Life is a game, and if I don't play then I can't lose."
"And you can't win, but it's not winning or losing, it's the thrill of playing." Kiba countered.
"So you're a live for the moment kind of guy? How shallow." Naruto laughed at his best friend scowling at him.
They enter the house through Temari letting them in, to hear the Kazekage trying to turn on some music. He was welcoming some other ninja as well, and talking a bit chatty with them. "Make room in the hall. Make room in the hall. Shake a leg, girls. More light. Flip over the tables and get them out of the way. He saw Jariya "Ah, my man, this unexpected fun feels good. No, sit down, my good friend. You and I are too old to dance." The Kazekage mumbled to the crowd around him.
Naruto looked around to see who all was at the party. Kiba was drooling at the dress sakura was in, and embarrassed to be standing next to Kiba, he moved away, finding a table in the corner of the huge room. He didn't sit but rather stood behind it and out of the way, leaning against the wall to try and watch the party.
The raven black hair was what grabbed Naruto's attention as Sasuke sneered at him from the other side of the room. Sasuke said something to the Kazekage about Naruto and he could hear the Kazekage answer "oh let him alone, Tsunade made him come I believe, out of respect."
Sasuke kept mumbling things under his breath to the Kazekage and Naruto chose to ignore them and continued to search the area. It was the red that caught his eye. Naruto began to unconsciously walk forward until he could see Gaara's face.
Gaara blushed when he saw Naruto walk toward him, but Naruto stopped Next to the red head. Looking around to see no one paying attention to their corner, he took Gaara's hand.
"It's probably wrong to do this, but your hands are soft." Naruto said blushing like a mad man.
"You're blushing." Gaara stated, his poker face in place, but he was freaking out as to why Naruto was holding his hand.
"I wonder why that could be?" Naruto pretended to be funny.
Gaara didn't smile, but it wasn't because he didn't think it funny, but because he's scared to show emotion. "Why? Why are you holding my hand?"
"Don't people sometimes hold the hand of a statue when they pray?"
"Yes, but what are you praying for? And why me?"
"You seem almost holy, and I'm praying for a kiss." Naruto immediately regretted the words, his inner nervousness could now be seen on his face as he wished he kept his big mouth shut. The look on Gaara's face was shocked but he recovered quickly and answered with a slight blush.
"Statues don't move when they grant their prayers." He said. Naruto didn't know if Gaara ment he didn't want to kiss him, or if he was just toying with him.
Naruto wanted so bad to kiss him, that instinct took over, and in one breath to prove he was just he clever he stated: "then don't move while I kiss you." And he pressed his lips to Gaara's. it only lasted a second, but both boys looked around to make sure no one saw. Gaara's green eyes met back with blue after a quick search. He took a breath to steady his nerves. "Now my sin has been taken from my lips." Naruto teased with a small smile.
"Does that mean I have your sin then?" Gaara asked in  daze.
"We can't have that can we?" Naruto Kissed him again, and Gaara blushed this time.
"You're a good Kisser." Gaara breathed out then blushed realising what he just said. "I hear someone calling my name." he almost stuttered.
"No one is calling your name." naruto laughed wondering if he hurt Gaara's feelings. He felt terrible for what he did.
"GAARA!" his sister called.
"See?" and he dashed off to follow his sister's voice. 'So he wasn't lying? Did he like it? Did I scare him?' Naruto thought to himself. 'either way, I should leave.'
"Temari? What do you want?" Gaara asked actually mad now that he had to leave. "I don't know you seemed white as a ghost over there with Naruto, I thought you might need a break from him. What was he doing anyway?"
"Temari? I think I'm in love?"
"With who?" she asked, searching the place.
"With someone I shouldn't be." He said, other than the red hair and green eyes the face had no color. Even his irises shrunk to a mere pastel green.
Two lovers, who's parents would freak if they found out either was gay, escaped from the party. Where will they meet again?
